TIA has been named the best airport in the U.S.
and one of the best in the world!
For the second time in it's 30 year history, Tampa
International Airport has been named the best airport in the United States. In fact, this time our airport
was named one of the best in the world.
The rating is a result of the
annual poll taken by Conde Nast Traveler magazine. The poll ranked TIA first in the United States and third in the world.
Two other Florida airports received honorable mention; Orlando
International and Palm Beach International. Ease
of navigation within the airports, convenience of gate areas radiating out from main concourses, and intelligent placement
of concessions are cited as contributing factors in TIA and other top-named airports receiving their good marks.
Miles of sandy shoreline bring tourists
to Tampa Bay's beaches, but the city has more to offer than fun in the sun. The Channelside Entertainment Complex provides
shopping, dining and entertainment near the port. For a walking tour of Tampa's skyline, visitors trek along Bayshore Boulevard,
dubbed "the world's longest sidewalk." The National Historic Landmark District of Ybor City, the cigar-making capital of the
world in the late 1800s, is brought to life with art galleries, museums, cigar bars and dance clubs open late into the night.
